In pursuit of a career in art, Kate moved from Texas to New York City in 1997. Kate received a BFA from School of Visual Arts with a focus in graphic design and painting, and a master's degree from Pratt Institute in art education. While studying at SVA, Kate transitioned into the makeup world. She soon began working closely with professional makeup artists in the editorial and theatrical industries. Her work has been published in editorials such as Zoot, Allure, Cosmopolitan, and Curve. Kate works each season of New York Fashion Week and has worked on shows such as: Jason Wu, Monique Lhullier, Alexander Wang, Y and Kei, J. Mendel, Lanvin, Jeremy Scott, Reem Acra, Rag and Bone, and Nicole Miller.
